It doesn't exactly put permanents into play the same way other cheat cards do, but you could easily read it as pay 12 life, put a 12-mana creature into play, and the outcome is roughly the same

Or you could draft three, and then swap from one to the other and adjust your cards and life from one to the other, once each character
